Neighborhood Description Little Haiti (5-minute drive) Wynwood Walls is a renowned outdoor street art museum located in Miamis vibrant Wynwood Arts District. Established in 2009 by Tony Goldman, it transformed the area from a once-overlooked neighborhood into a global destination for street art enthusiasts. Covering over 35,000 square feet, the walls showcase murals and installations from more than 120 artists representing over 20 countries. Notable works include pieces by Hebru Brantley, whose large sculptures, such as an 18-foot child wearing aviator goggles, are a tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen. Another masterpiece is Tristan Eaton's mural, which blends pop culture references and graffiti styles into a stunning collage. His work, rich in color and texture, symbolizes the evolving nature of street art and engages audiences through recognizable cultural icons. El Mac's "A Love Supreme" is a striking mural located just outside Wynwood Walls. This massive artwork portrays local Miami residents, referred to as everyday saints, and celebrates the dignity and grace of the community. In addition to these individual pieces, the Goldman Global Arts Gallery offers rotating exhibitions of smaller works by artists featured on the walls. These pieces, sometimes for sale, allow you to take a piece of Wynwood's creativity home with them. Bayside Marketplace (15-minute drive) The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science offers an expansive array of exhibitions, combining nature, science, and technology to create a hands-on educational experience. One of the museum's most iconic displays is in the Aquarium, where the Gulf Stream Oculus provides a breathtaking, 31-foot-wide view into a 500,000-gallon tank. This tank is home to species like hammerhead sharks, devil rays, and jellyfish, offering a deep dive into marine ecosystems. In the Feathers to the Stars exhibit, journey through time from the age of dinosaurs to the dawn of space travel. Marvel at a real Tyrannosaurus rex tooth, fossilized remains of a Pteranodon, and gaze upon the Apollo 11 Command Module replica, all while learning about humanitys pursuit of flight, from prehistoric wings to NASAs greatest achievements. The FPL Solar Terrace at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science offers a fascinating look at renewable energy in action, with interactive displays that allow engagement with solar technology.
